Stop the Oxford Animal Lab - Take Action!!
West Midlands Animal Action | 14.02.2006 18:31 | Animal Liberation | Birmingham
The campaign against Oxford University`s prison of pain & torture currently under construction, is one which we simply cannot afford to lose. The animal rights movement stopped the construction of a primate death camp in Cambridge and we have previously halted construction in Oxford for 17 months. We can and must stop them again, for the sake of the many thousands of animals that will be mutilated, burnt, infected, poisoned and murdered inside that hellhole if it ever gets built.
West Midlands Animal Action(WMAA) has been running coaches to Oxford National demos throughout the course of this campaign. Over the past 2 years, all 4 of these coaches have been full, we have never had any trouble filling them, compassionate people in the West Midlands have been eager to get to Oxford to peacefully demonstrate against sick, evil `research`. Until now that is!!
NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO RELAX!!!!
Our coach to Oxford on Saturday 25th February is currently only half full. After phoning and emailing round, we have established that most people that we can generally rely on to fill a coach, cannot, for whatever reason go this time. But we are only talking about 20 odd seats, this action alert was sent out via email alone to at least 150 people!! If YOU want to help make history, and knock a nail in the coffin of the vivisection industry in this country, please contact us and book your seats asap!! (details below)
Is money an issue for you?? Don`t let it be!! If you`re free to come but you can`t afford the coach seat, please don`t worry. Pay what you can or pay nothing at all, WE NEED TO FILL THE COACH!!! Thankfully, there are some very generous people around who can`t attend themselves, but are happy to pay the fare of those that can. But people are less willing to pay out when a coach is only half full.
We have just a few short months until construction work is completed. It is absolutely essential that we get down there in large numbers for each of the monthly national demos. Keep an eye on the SPEAK website http://www.speakcampaigns.org.uk/ , remember the national demo dates, note them down in your diary, book the day off work, tell your friends you can`t go out on that day, call/email us and BOOK YOUR COACH SEATS!!! (and send your payment upfront whenever possible).
BOOKING YOUR COACH SEATS
On Sat 25th Feb, the coach will pick up at the following points:
Redditch Magistrates Court - 9am
Birmingham Post & Mail Building - 9.45am
Coventry Pool Meadow Bus Station - 10.30am
The suggested fare per seat is £10 waged and £5 un-waged, but as stated earlier, don`t worry if you can`t pay the full amount.
If you wish to book seats, please call 07952 561652 or email wmids_animalaction@yahoo.co.uk as soon as possible. If at all possible, please also send your payment upfront. Make cheques payable to `West Midlands Animal Action` and send to WMAA, PO Box 10202, Redditch, Worcs. B98 8YT.
OTHER WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT SPEAK CAMPAIGNS
Whether or not you attend national demos in Oxford, there are many other ways you can help the campaign. Weekday demos, leafletting, fundraising, email alerts etc. SPEAK need YOU to take part in as many of these as possible, in order to run an effective, successful campaign and achieve victory for the animals.
