Demonstration at Chetwynd Barracks, Chilwell THIS Saturday

Forward | 14.02.2006 16:17 | Anti-militarism

12.00 - 14.00, Saturday 18th. February, Main Entrance at Chetwynd Barracks, Swiney Way, Chilwell

TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ NOW! END THE OCCUPATION OF IRAQ!

This is where most of the Reservists and Territorials are mustered before they are sent to Iraq and Afghanistan. Nottingham Stop the War Coalition are demonstrating both against more British military personnel being sent to Iraq (and Afghanistan) to oppress and kill more Iraqis (and Afghanis) and against the lives of more British servicepeople being sacrificed in this imperialist adventure.

We shall be:

* Hanging on the perimeter fence over 100 coffin-shaped placards displaying the names of the British military dead.

* Addressing the troops inside the barracks by means of a public address system.

* Leafletting people leaving and entering the main entrance and the shoppers at nearby Tesco's.

* Drawing the attention of people passing to this issue.

Please attend and urge others to do so. We hope to obtain some media coverage so a good turnout is desirable.

N.B. The Rainbow 5 bus departing from the Broadmarsh bus Station at 11.06 will get you there in time.

Phone Ross Longhurst on 0115 912 7697 for further details.
