BBC news bulletins have been reporting incorrect news.

BBC news bulletins (News 24) in recent weeks have been reporting that President Ahmadinejad of Iran has stated that the "Holocaust is a myth".

In fact, he said, "If the Europeans are telling the truth in their claim that they have killed six million Jews in the Holocaust during the World War II - which seems they are right in their claim because they insist on it and arrest and imprison those who oppose it, why the Palestinian nation should pay for the crime. Why have they come to the very heart of the Islamic world and are committing crimes against the dear Palestine using their bombs, rockets, missiles and sanctions."

Please correct your future news bulletins and apologize for your past mistakes which my lead to a terrorist attack on Iran by Israel or the US.

Just because he's being threatened by Bush is no reason to automatically rally around this nutcase. You people complain about the freedom of speech being eroded and racism being spouted in public places, but when someone is against Bush anyone criticising them is shouted down by an ever-present minority here and any of the target's racist remarks are ignored.

Iran's ruling elite (including the President) HAVE categorically said that the holocaust is a myth.
They held their own "Holocaust Conference" for fucks sake!
The quote above is just a more passive-agressive and "diplomatic" way of expressing these sentiments, designed for Iranian supporters in the west (i.e. the writer of the above) who might be wary of explicit calls to genocide. This way allows them to feel good about themselves.

Now, I support Palestinian autonomy, only right-wing hawks wouldnt. Hamas has done some wonderful things with local government. But I still condemn suicide bombings, just as I condemn neo-liberal policy and the Cambodian bombings etc. If was against one and not the other, I'd be a hypocrite.

SO if you condemn the US rewriting their history to ignore their actions in Indochina, the Middle East and their genocide of the Native American Tribes, you ought to condemn Iran for claiming that the Holocaust never happened, not rally round them and make excuses them merely because they've pitted themselves against western hegemony.

How about some moral consistancy?!

sure the numbers are wrong (ask the world jewish council how many they think died at aus. now and subtract the number from the 4m jews they said were killed and burnt to non existant by the coal short germany)

sure $billions have been extracted by jewish groups since to prop up one of the most racist societies on earth

sure large amounts of fiction has been paraded as fact in holocaust remebering

but that doesn't mean we are allowed to talk about it without being cast into illegal territory

we can only have freedom of expression for isulting muslims
