Reading Capital vol 1 in Manchester

squatticus | 13.02.2006 18:01 | Globalisation | Social Struggles | Workers' Movements

New reading group will exist shortly

If anyone's interested in joining a group to read Capital vol 1, with weekly meetings to discuss it at Manchester Student Union (finishing it by the summer), then e-mail me: squatticus at-sign hotmail.com

Alternatively, come to the Union foyer at 2pm this Wednesday, 15 February, where we're going to have a quick chat to decide on a venue and regular time for the meeting.

You don't have to be a student to join in, though there will be some* (I'm not, for one).

* thought I'd warn you all in case you have a terrible and inexplicable aversion.

The first meeting will be 1.30pm on Wednesday, not 2.00pm - same place tho.

BTW, re Mein Kampf, I suggest anyone reading that does so in the same way as I intend to read Capital - i.e. without suspending my critical faculties! Shouldn´t do you too much harm.

(Like religion or cancer, fascism is a phenomenon which affects humanity, and therefore a necessary subject to study. Or would a better approach be to close your eyes and hope it goes away?)
