Child-sex charges were today withdrawn against a Saltdean man after the Prosecution admitted it did not have enough evidence. Charges of sexually assaulting two girls aged under ten were brought last year against [X], but at the start of what was expected to be a 2 week trial, the Prosecution said they could not proceed because the children involved were too traumatised to give evidence. Forensic evidence in the case was said to be “inconclusive”. Prosecutor Peter Bentley said it gave him no pleasure to have to withdraw the charges, and that he could understand how the children and their families would feel “betrayed” by the system, but under the circumstances it was the only option available.

After the charges against [X] were formally dismissed, he pleaded guilty to five specimen charges of downloading child pornography from the internet. The “disgusting” images were found on [X]’s computer after police raided his home while investigating the allegations of sexual assault.

[X], a former member of the British National Party, was described as a “virtual alcoholic” and a “sick pervert” who was obsessed with Adolf Hitler and immersed himself in far-right politics. The court heard that he was convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage boy in 1996.

In mitigation, [X]’s solicitor said that his client had been suffering from depression and drinking heavily at the time the offensive images were discovered on his computer. [X] was said to spend long hours surfing the internet. He is now attending meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, and was willing to attend specific “offence-related” counselling if ordered to do so by the court.

The case was adjourned for two weeks for sentencing reports.

I've noticed that the Nazi 'VNN' forum, the UK section of which [X] moderates, has been down for a few days now. Maybe he was remanded (in custody) for sentencing, or perhaps he has gone on the run. I'm not sure you'd necessarily be looking at imprisonment on the charges of downloading child porn, but with his previous history of paedophilia it has to be a possibility.

It is understood that the reson the VNN website forum used by the Nazis is down is because the Saltdean kiddy fiddler's computer got taken away again last week so they asked the Americans behind it to pull the site for their own protections.

Libel and slander are actually civil matters, which is one of the reasons the likes of the Nazi BPP routinely get away with slandering their political opponents, including their own former chairman. [X] is one of the very worst offenders. Some set of Nazis these aren't they, all they ever seem to be able to do is whine "Help! Police!", how pathetic. It is certainly a libel - I have just phoned the [P] and they have never carried this story. As a solicitor I would advise [X] to pursue the Criminal Libel angle as in my opinion in does break that law, as it puts [X] and his family in possible danger to person and property. It is also straightforward libel which unfortunately there is no legal aid provision for. However there is a law known as "Malicious Falsehood" which does carry a legal aid backup and this another course that would more than likely result in a conviction against the articles publishers.
