No Sweat Week of Action 11-18 February

No Sweat, the national campaign against sweatshop Labour, is holding a week of action from 11-18 February. Activist in Sheffield have organised a series of events.

Monday 13th February: Naomi Klein's film "The Take", on the workers' occupation and self-government of factories in Argentina. Its first showing in Sheffield, we're screening it at 6pm at the University of Sheffield Union of Students Auditorium.

Tuesday 14th February: Action against the sweatshop atrocities of the Arcadia Group. We are meeting outside Top Shop on Fargate at 12 noon. For details of a previous action, see  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/sheffield/2005/12/330151.html

Thursday 16th February: Speaker from the workers' occupied Zanon factory in Argentina, in the University of Sheffield Union of Students Council Chamber, from 1 - 2pm. For more details, see  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/sheffield/2006/01/332389.html

Action against Tesco: meeting outside Tesco on Ecclesall Road from 3pm.

Friday 17th February: Blood, Sweat and Beers, a benefit gig for the Zanon workers organised by Students Against Sweatshops. An eclectic night of jazz, sa, indie, hip hop and nu skool breaks featuring Ad-Lib, MJ Hibbit, the Magnet Men, Little Plato and special guests. Come and party at the Matilda on Matilda Street from 7pm til 12 midnight.
