Danish Jam and Passports

Malcolm X | 08.02.2006 16:24 | Analysis | Culture | World

The Danish and generally, Scandinavian Passports were the safest documents to travel with in the world, not any more.

For those who are fans of Jam, I mean the type you spread on your morning breakfast toast will know that Jam made in Denmark by Danish Orchards is the best Jam in the the western hemisphere bar none. Reduced sugar, full flavoured and simply delicious. Yet, the editor of that newspaper has compromised the export of this fine edible product as well as the ability of Scandinavian citizens to be able to travel freely without let or hinderance. Prior to the "Cartoon publishing" the Scandinavian Passport (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and Icelandic), were the safest passports to travel on for citizens of the west, British, French, German, US, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and a host of other passports were really not the most favourable nor safe passports to travel on especially in the Middle East and most parts of Asia and now, parts of Africa. We all have a responsibility to ensure that free speech, while sacred, should not compromise the ability to reach out to others. Well done Mr. Editor, you have just not really thought this matter through, wonder if you travel a lot!
