Caridad González López, director of the Frank País independent library, said a State Security agent seized some 400 books from the library last week.
González López said the agent, named Rolando, was accompanied by a member of the Communist party. She said they arrived at the library at 7 a.m. with a search warrant.
"The warrant had as its objective to scare me into not continuing to work at the library and in the dissidency," she said, "but I will redouble my efforts. "
Urge that all Cuban citizens be guaranteed their rights to freedom of association, assembly and expression, in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and that the Cuban Government immediately cease to imprison, force into exile abroad or otherwise punish those who attempt to peacefully exercise such rights.
