There is NO free Mass Media anywhere. The people that run the press are the worst kind of scum at the best of times. At the worst of times, they become willing playthings of whatever devil is the most powerful. The plurarity of the press generates a nice PsyOps trick, namely if papers and TV stations compete against each other, then who will believe that they can serve the same master with more effectiveness than a STATE-CONTROLLED media.

I don't believe that the original program of cartoons was anything more than the 'background' anti-muslim program persued by all the press across Europe. This background program tailors the anti-muslim propaganda from each outlet in a way suitable for their target readers/viewers. However, co-ordinated propaganda operations are worked this way, with experts keeping an eye for extraordinary responses that were not predictable.

In other words, the Danish program was originally just more of the same, but when it became apparent that something suprising was happening, Blair's people recognised the possibilities, and knocked the whole program up several notches. The same thing happened over and over with Hitler's propaganda programs too. Programming in success is always hard to do, but spotting 'accidental' success, and running with it is an essential part of any operation.

Now, Blair has taken the anti-muslim cartoons to the whole globe. In Britain, he can settle with piously showing pictures of 'extremist' muslim posters from recent protests, rather than the cartoons themselves. The net result is even better.

An anti-Semitic cartoon in a British paper The Muslim Weekly...?

depicts Israel's acting Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, as a hook-nosed figure wearing a giant Star of David, last night drew protests from MPs and Jewish groups.

Andrew Dismore, the Labour MP for Hendon, said the cartoon was "obscene" and in terribly "bad taste", and has now made a formal complaint to the paper.

He added: "This cartoon depicts people in the most obscene fashion, reminiscent of Die Sturmer, the Nazi propaganda sheet. It denigrates and incites hatred towards Jewish people. I sympathise with the Muslim complaints about the cartoon that appeared in Denmark, but it is hypocritical to publish a cartoon like this." The Arab European League decided to respond with it's own freedom of speech campaign, publishing it's own cartoons that are racist and offensive ( Anne Frank being screwed by Hitler anyone ?) which I won't post directly.
