vigil st georges hall
last wednesday 1st feb
approx 100

a coalition of groups involved in anti war activities held a vigil to highlight the deaths in Iraq of 100th british soldier.
the names of the dead were read out by several speakers as also were the names of 100 Iraqi civilians killed in this needlesss conflict. the message was clear that we must put a stop to this terrible war. a march is being held in london on the 18th of march tickets available from news from nowhere .
the local groups included military families against the war and a large christian contingent.however what tactics and what strategy for the anti war movement was never got announced, especially now neede a debate on what to do with the build up of threats to invade iran. we never really heard any of the spekers mention the next step, civil disobedience strikes against the war effort occupations road blocks it was quite tame and respectful.no one spoke of or proposed.any form of direct action.grand eloquent speeches and worthy tributes on their own will not be enough or adopting a wait and see outlook.we need to elaborate now a strategy for scuppering the invasion plans and thwarting blairs war aims. starting with the troops bound for the conflict zone of the middleast afghanistan being outlined in particular.
what way can we agitate on troop movements as with the slogan troops out the middle east what does it mean if we dont try to make it happen.

in london downing steet spokesperson for the labour party issued a statement that was tantamount to declaring the demonstation was as good supporting terrorism and slimed their way out of defending the families.
how dare these cannon fodder complain when they are slaughtered for other peoples careers.

101 British servicemen killed in Iraq

It's now 101 British servicemen killed in Iraq.
Not to mention US servicemen.
Not to mention the British civilians so far killed by terrorist actions due to the invasion. Not to mention other civilian and military losses, from Spain to Syria to Slovakia killed by this war.

Not to forget the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed since the invasion,
Or the 500,000 Iraqi children killed by the 'between the wars' sanctions.
Or the millions that died in the Iran-Iraq war where we supplied both sides with their weapons.
Or all of those who died under our puppet dictator Saddams bloody and war-mongering rule.

If I seem like I'm being pernickety it's to stop others being pedantic and insulting at your choice of words.
