A worker from Zanon, the most famous of Argentina's occupied factories, is coming to speak in Britain on a tour organised by No Sweat and the Argentina Solidarity Campaign as part of the first anti-sweatshop week of action.

Jose Julian Pununari, a worker from the occupied Argentinean Zanon factory is visiting the UK on a speaker tour, 12–17 February, as part of the student anti-sweatshop week of action organised by No Sweat and Students Against Sweatshops.

The Zanon tile factory in Neuquen is one of many ‘recovered’ factories in Argentina – factories taken over and run by the workers.

Faced with pay cuts and redundancies – and then no pay at all – the Zanon workers occupied and began to run the factory. They are coming to Britain to discuss their experience with activists here.

The visit is also being hosted by the Argentina Solidarity Campaign.
