34 broadway market on eviction red alert

Sheriffs have been seen checking the site on Thursday, the order of restitution has officially been granted... In other words, we are going to be chucked out soon!

Dear Broadway Market supporters,
We are on red alert again!
An order of restitution has been issued by the High Court and the subsequent letter has been received by 34 Broadway Market occupiers to notify them of an imminent eviction. On Friday, sheriffs were seen checking the site. At a meeting with Dr and Mrs Wratten on Friday afternoon, spokespersons for the occupiers asked them whether they would be prepared to stop the eviction (which would be a simple step on their part) and they clearly refused.

What is needed is such situation remains the same: people coming down to stay the night at the cafe (if so, please call 07939333465 to put your name on the rota and be aware that you have to arive at the cafe before 10.30pm); people prepared to come and show support against the eviction and probable demolition of the building. You can either come very early in the morning (about 6am) from Monday and everyday thereafter and/or send us your phone number to be called in emergency in order to come down rapidly.

We obviously cannot guarantee that the eviction will take place on Monday or any other day... But the signs are not good!

Thanks again for your support.
