Saving Iceland Gathering in Shefield
Lumsk | 17.01.2006 15:33 | Ecology
A meeting to discuss the catastrophic environmental effects that Heavy Industry is having on Iceland and the rest of Europe and what we can do about it is being held in Sheffield this coming weekend the 21st and 22 January.
A call to people interested in opposing the ever increasing Heavy and Aluminium industries. Icelands interior wilderness and pristine coastal areas are being devastated by dam construction for the sole purpose to provide electricity to power the expanding Aluminium industry. The environmental devastation will dramaticaly effect climate change and is a great concern for all of us throughout europe and beyond.
The gathering will discuss these pressing issues, look at recent developments in the campaign and what further action can be taken.
All are welcome to the gathering which is being held at the Matildas Social Centre in Sheffield starting at about 10 am.
If you wish to attend please email your details and any access or dietry requirements to lifeisloud69(at)yahoo.co.uk for further details. There will be a request for contributions at the gathering to support the catering etc.
