Radical film night in Brighton

A RADICAL cinema evening is being held in Brighton on Wednesday February 1.

The event is taking place at the city's arts cinema, the Duke of York's at Preston Circus, near London Road, from 6.30pm.
The double bill features "Bury My Heart in Palestine" and "SchMOVIES 2005".
The first of these is the fruit of a visit to Palestine by three Brighton filmmakers in October 2003.. It is narrated by Israeli professor Geoff Helper and an Irish human rights activist.
It shows the daily struggles and tribulations of the people of Palestine and shows how, by a strange quirk of fate, the oppressed can become the oppressors.
SchMOVIES 2005 comes from Brighton's direct action newsletter SchNEWS and features a collection of short films shot last year. Here is footage from the frontline including short films from the G8 Summit in Scotland last year and the DSEI arms fair in London .
Local isses are covered with the ongoing EDO campaign and Mad Pride. A drop of truth in an ocean of bullshit!
