One caveat, although KONP is AFAIK not a SWP front, John McDermott (I think) is a member of the SWP, imo, sadly, this campaign will fail like all of theirs if they try to take it over.

Self-serving NHS

The NHS is run for the benefit of its employees and not the paying customers. That's why NHS employees want to remain public employees. As the Healthcare Commission said last year

'the health service could often seem to be designed around the needs of the staff rather than the patients'.

I have recent experience of NHS treatment. It was a shambles. The staff know that most customers can't take their business elsewhere and they exploit that. Like all monopolies it is corrupt and rotten to the core.

A SWP front?

I have to say it does look like the SWP are taking over what was once was a very independent campaign, (similar to their involvement with the Campaign Against Climate Change) Googling the list of names of speakers at KONHSP mettings across the country, SWP members are scheduled to speak at all of them. i have no problem in the SWP being involved as one group amongst many, but it looks like they are upto their own tricks again, possible fronts like this are disasterous and may well lose public support.

Perhaps, some members of the SWP can respond to this.
