Nuclear War against Iran

Michel Chossudovsky | 05.01.2006 00:35 | Analysis | Terror War

"The implications are overwhelming.

The so-called international community has accepted the eventuality of a nuclear holocaust."

Those who decide have swallowed their own war propaganda.

A political consensus has developed in Western Europe and North America regarding the aerial attacks using tactical nuclear weapons, without considering their devastating implications.

This profit driven military adventure ultimately threatens the future of humanity.

What is needed in the months ahead is a major thrust, nationally and internationally which breaks the conspiracy of silence, which acknowledges the dangers, which brings this war project to the forefront of political debate and media attentiion, at all levels, which confronts and requires political and military leaders to take a firm stance against the US sponsored nuclear war.

Ultimately what is required are extensive international sanctions directed against the United States of America and Israel."

war by March?

06.01.2006 13:24

The article predicts war by March this year. Short of some sort of crazy pre-emptive strike by Iran it is going to take our enlightened leaders a good six months to a year to whip up sufficient war-hysteria. This is not to say that the US doesn't want to attack Iran (they have since the revolution of 1979) but neither they nor their proxy will wish to appear uprovoked. It needs to be all quiet in Iraq (fat chance) with established US bases first

I don't see why.

Iraq was being regularly bombed by US/UK from 1991 to 2002 without much of a public outcry.

Ahmadinejad has said that Israel should be wiped off the map and that the Holocaust
is a load of codswallop.

What more is needed to justify a "limited surgical strike", a "military peacekeeping operation", using mini-nukes against military/scientific facilities in a country whose president would face criminal court proceedings in France or Germany? Chossudovsky claims that European political elites and NATO have already accepted the principle.

US/France/Canada carried out a coup d'etat in Haiti in Jan/Feb 2004 - there hasn't been any huge massive public outcry. There's lots of good solidarity developing, but in the West, only activists are aware of the truth.

The propaganda has already been built up over the last year - and Ahmadinejad amplified it beyond the Cheney/Bush regime's wildest dreams...

Time to start planning anti-war stuff NOW if we want to have any chance of success.

don't underestimate bush's madness
