GR is doing it for the kids!

Guy Taylor of Globalise Resistance was a guest speaker on Radio 1 on Tuesday 27th December at 2:30pm.
Guy Taylor, the leader of Globalise Resistance, was a guest speaker on Radio 1 today during a comedy discussion about the overthrow of the British government.
The presenter, whose name I forget, was a comedian who was pretending to be interested in revolutionary politics. So, in order to pursue his aim further he spoke to someone from an anarchist punk band called Capdown (who presumably have a record contract with a huge multinational), Lembit Opik from the Lib Dems and of course Guy.
When questioned about his politics Guy Taylor spoke quite well about his objections to the capitalist system and how he feels that it oppresses the Third World and why he felt a revolution was neccesary to overthrow the system. As I know little about GR I felt that he could have easily been an SWP member giving his political opinion (no surprises there then).
Appearances such as this in the mainstream media by leftists may raise the profile of the individual or the group (Guy Taylor has also appeared on TV), however it could be argued that when presented in such a flippant way merely sets up the person/group/ideology as a laughing stock.
Fortunately for the SWP and their front groups, their members appear to be impervious to embarassment or criticism from any quarters.
So, don't say the mainstream media never give you anything!
