Indymedia UK's practice of censorship is alienating and annoying many activists.

Indymedia UK i.e. this site, claims to offer inclusive participation. The Indymedia website has a reputation as a useful resource for UK activists, a reputation which is now threatened by Indymedia's actions of censorship and exclusion.

Indymedia UK claims that posts are not censored and are merely hidden. This claim is disputed. The action of 'hiding' posts so that they appear on the viewallposts.html page is itself an act of censorship. It may be relative rather than absolute censorship, but it is still censorship.

Indymedia censors use other means to censor participants' submissions. By failing to update a news story, theose attempting to comment will inadvertently resubmit their comments - because they have not appeared. This act provides the Indymedia censors with the breach of the Editorial Guidelines needed to censor the whole news item. If a news item is repeated, all copies are moved to the censored page.

It has been noted that Indymedia is quick and pleased to censor items after certain posters instruct them to. Who are these people that Indymedia UK is willing to censor for?

Indymedia's practice of censorship likely followed the site's hugely increased popularity during July 2005 when it was covering the G8 demonstrations at Gleneagles. It is immediately apparent that many of the contributors to Indymedia UK are psyops fascists as many contributors rihtly recognise.

Censorship has to do with pursuing a certain agenda so that items that the censors do not want raised are censored. Indymedia's authoritarian (Stalinist?) attitude is likely to alienate many activist and may mark the start of the end for Indymedia UK.
