Brick Lane London E1 Area Community No to a scrutiny of Crossrail-hole Bill

© CBRUK / KHOODEELAAR 2005 | 13.12.2005 18:50 | Ecology | Social Struggles | London | World

The MPs 'select committee', just finalised, to 'scrutinise' the Crossrail hole Bill scheduled to start in january 2006, will fail the people in the East End of London if the process is allowed to be just a formality. Defend the Brick Lane London E1 area against the Crossrail hole Bill. Back the campaign against the hole attack on the Brick Lane area. Force Alistair Darling to tell the truth about how the crass Crossrail hole Bill was conjured up by neglecting the rights of the communities.

BRICK LANE AREA NO TO CROSSRAIL HOLE Bill 2005 Community prepares to say NO TO CROSSRAIL HOLE BILL during 'scrutiny'
The item we published on this site in the KHOODEELAAR breaking news edition at 0110 Hrs GMT on 13 December 2005 was taken from a pro-Crossrail hole Bill organisation. We carried it to show the facts of how the pro-Crossrail hole Bill lobby were active in the promotion of the hole Bill.

They are alert and are vigilantly pressing the Blair regime to make more public cash available for the Crossrail hole venture that will enable the city of London interests to reap the harvest of public dosh in the constriction and building bonanza they expect the hole Bill to unleash when that Bill is made into an Act of Parliament.

As the City of London interests crave the loot, the community in the Brick Lane London E1 Area faces destruction.

We aim to make sure that the hole attacks the Crossrail Bill will make on the community are exposed for all to see.

We aim to defend the community and to undermine the promotion of the Crossrail hole Bill.

We are aware that the majority of the so-called objections to the Crossrail, hole Bill are petty and are not at all AGAINST the Crossrail plan.

The majority of the so-called objectors are supporters of the Crossrail plan.

Those objectors do not belong in the community.

They do not belong with the community

They do not care about the community.

We aim to draw maximum attention to the violation of one of the most diverse, positive human resources that is the Brick Lane London e1 area. It has emerged as a triumph of human resistance against exploitation and greed. It has done so in stages and gradually over the past three hundred years in the Brick Lane London e1 Area.

Defend the Brick Lane London E1 Area.
Say no to Crossrail hole Bill attacks provisions that will destroy the community in the Brick Lane London E1 Area

I don't get it

Are you against Crossrail? Why?

Crossrail is a long overdue plan that should by now be thoroughly uncontroversial. London needs Crossrail. Or are you happy with the current state of the transport network?

There are many things worth whinging about. Crossrail isn't one of them.

DEFEND BRICK LANE AREA COMMUNITY by kicking out present clique of councillors

14.12.2005 20:43

WE SUPPORT THE BRICK LANE LONDON E1 Community campaign against the Crossrail hole Bill.

Just for the record, we noted in this week's edition ofd the 'Newham Recorder' (mystifyingly called Tower Hamlets recorder') carry a 'letter' saying that there should be a 'debate' on Crossrail. the 'letter' seems to be from the same campaign. we don't agree at al; tenant together should be a debate. the time for debate is over. they have got the Bill already past the Second Reading. we must use all our energies now to forcing the Tower Hamlets Council to withdraw its backing for Crossrail hole Bill.

Here is what we have told the 'Tower Hamlets Recorder' today 14 December 2005

No need for debate- Get Keith off the Council.

Sink the Crossrail hole ploy now. There is no need for any 'debate' with Tower Hamlets Councillor Michael Keith at all. There is no time for any debate either.
Had there been

a 'debate' that would have best taken place in 2003. Sometime before June 2003 when Michael Keith began his public lobbying for the Crossrail scheme. People need to realise that far from being a mere local councillor on Tower Hamlets Council, Michael Keith has behaved as a pro-active agent for the big business interests that have the most gain if a Crossrail plan is approved in its present Bill, form in the UK Parliament.

The most important task is to get Michael Keith off Tower Hamlets Council and get the rest of his colluders for Crossrail thrown out of the Tower Hamlets
Council. Then build a democratic and accountable Council. No, not a stunt one with George Galloway either.

Build a council in Tower Hamlets with local people being able to have our say on actual decisions that are seen to be being made by taking account of what local people say. With what local people need locally. On all aspects of life,.

Neither the Tories nor the Lib Dems are up to the job either.

Hard times. But the results of hard work will be equally exciting.

Let us organise the people and make a peoples' manifesto come to the fore now.

Before the parties and their cohorts get away with foolish vote-grabbing promises.

Calling for suppoty to defend the East End area against Crosstail hole attacks

25.12.2005 22:10

Quoted from CBRUK / KHOODEELAAR community message on Sunday 25 December 2005

1. Our community is being destroyed, our lives destroyed, livelihoods threatened.

2. The Crossrail hole scheme, the Crossrail hole bill is not a distant possibility.

3. It is too close to home for us to ignore or overlook it. It is about too derisory our homes.

4. The brick lane London e1 area hosiers a very diverse number of people in a relatively small space that is being used as a resource by families and individuals in a way that is helpful to society.

5. That is also very good for the overall wellbeing of the local community.

6. If the Crossrail hole plan is allowed to go ahead then all of this will be lost.

7. Thousands of local people will be robbed of things that they have struggled over for years to make something their lives.

8. When a community is destroyed there is no recovering from that destruction for the people affected.

9. We must act to stop the Crossrail hole being given the go-ahead by the present Blair government.

10. We can do something to stop this from happening.

11. We can act in time to put a stop to an unnecessary destruction of a community area.

Questions to 'local MP' George Galloway 27 October 2006

27.10.2006 15:04

© Muhammad Haque/Khoodeelaar!/CBRUK/LCANB 2006

To

George Galloway MP

1. Dear Mr Galloway

2. We are putting these questions to you as open questions, in that we are no longer sending these to you only by direct email as you have not been answering the communications sent to you mainly after the 4 May 2006 local council elections. What we are doing is sending you the e-mails and also publishing what we are sending to you. Just in case there is any lag between our transmissions and your actually getting access to them. Time is so very important.

3. We have however not forgotten the fact that you are apparently maintaining a very busy schedule, even though you have appeared to not say anything against CrossRail since you appeared before the Crossrail Bill select committee in the House of Commons in June 2006.

4. We recall the several occasions in the past, especially around the time of your stay as a guest of the Channel 4 programme 'Big Brother' when the Blair party had organised a very high-profile propaganda campaign against you, saying that you had let the constituency ['Bethnal Green and Bow'] down and they were saying that you had let the constituency down by not being in the constituency or in the House of Commons when the matter of Crossrail was being discussed in the House of Commons.

5. We also recall the fact that it was on that occasion that Khoodeelaar! decided to speak out and in defence of you.

6. In fact it has been this Campaign , no other anywhere in the UK, that has made a very detailed and substantive contribution on the world wide web and elsewhere that showed you in a positive light and argued for your constitutional rights [as concerned at that time and in that context] as the current elected MP.

7. It seems that you have not appeared to show any recognition to that fact in your public statements - except a number which you made in the presence of campaigning members of the of Khoodeelaar! movement.

8. We note that there is a new lobbying pressure by Big Business to have the CrossRail hole Bill promoted as being - as Michael Keith was quoted as saying in 2003 in his then promotional letter published as a paid-for advertisement in the London Evening Standard [June 2003] addressed to Tony Blair - utterly essential for the very survival of the UK economy and words to that effect!. Have you noted the same as we have done and if so, what steps have you taken so far to oppose that pressure?

9. It is reported that a debate FOR CrossRail is being hurriedly arranged to take place ion the UK parliament next week.

10. We are therefore asking you to let us know in the constituency what you know about that

11. Whether you have done the necessary research into the current state of CrossRail hole threat to the Constituency

12. Whether you have actually tried to learn about the local community's current position on this

13. Whether you are planning - as we have asked you in the past to do - to put an early day Motion against CRASSrail and if you have in fact drafted a Motion along the liens we have been suggesting to you over the past 10 months

14. Whether you recognise -as you did on 10 April 2006 - that the Khoodeelaar! campaign is the strategic vital campaign which is one of the two most successful campaigns in defence of the East End [the other one you mentioned was the campaign to stop Council House transfer] and if so, what steps you are taking to get involved again with the Khoodeelaar movement to defend the East End

15. Whether you have seen the blatant collusion by the current controlling clique on tower Hamlets Council with CRASSrail in whose favour they have again withdrawn their latest bogus objections

16. Whether you are going to be available to take part in the next series of Khoodeelaar campaign events

17. Whether you had not received the invite that we did send to you to attend our Iftaar meeting

18. Whether you are going to come and support the next four demonstrations that we are organising in the lead up to what we consider will be one of the most lengthy series of court battles by us to stop the Crossrail hole attacks being carried out against our community in the East End

With Best wishes
