Malaysia urges Australia to confront racism

But by inviting john hoWARd along he'll get an opportunity to deal with the number one racist in the country. The root cause of the main problem. Besides the Aussie piss-heads that is!
Malaysia will welcome Prime Meanster john hoWARd, the racist coward, to the annual East Asia summit with the message that Australia must confront the racism and xenophobia revealed in Sydney's riots.
But by inviting john hoWARd along he'll get an opportunity to deal with the number one racist in the country. The root cause of the main problem! Besides the Aussie piss-heads that is!
The war criminal is due to arrive in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, this evening to take part in the first East Asia summit after he was forced to sign a peace deal to prevent a pre-emptive strike by Australia in the region.
Malaysia says Sydney's race riot shows Australia has to deal with the problems of racism and prejudice.
Amid the Sydney violence, Malaysia's Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi announced Australia will have a permanent seat at what will be the annual East Asia summit.
"We welcome, we are very happy that we have the participation of India, Australia and New Zealand," he said.
Moral standards
However, Malaysia's Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar says, "Racism, xenophobia, these are the prejudices - it shows extremism is not peculiar to Muslims," he said.
"But I don't think that should in any way bar Australia."
He'll co-operate with the head racist and war criminal in anycase because trade comes before moral standards?
He says Australia merits a permanent seat at the East Asia summit because politics and trade reach beyond geography.
Sure they do? For all he cares you can just do what you want anytime because he'll still give you a permanent seat even if you're the head racist!
No matter what kind of war criminal or racist he has to deal with he will simply deny that he's dealing with one? It must have been someone else!
I must admit he does have very high standards indeed?

However I'm not sure how giving voice to Malaysia's criticisms helps, they are hardly a racist free utopia. Infact the country has instituionalised discrimination against it's non-muslim (mostly Indian and Chinese) citizens. Eg there is a muslim/malay price for purchasing a house and another price for everyone else.
The 69 race riots are another example of Malaysia's racist past

Australian news on UK newswire?

But does the UK newswire need postings of Australian news the whole time? Especially this kind of thing: info that could be found on any news site, with a little simplistic commentary.

Australia and racism

Australia is a commonwealth country, so I suppose that makes it slightly relevant - but what makes it more relevant is that the changes currently working in Oz are of a globally significant level (again, in my opinion).
We have elements which the UK is soon to face already in existence in Oz, perhaps its worth watching simply to see where the UK may go very soon (assuming the bulk of the anti-terror legislation goes through the Lords, etc). Much of Britain's foreign policy is leading the way towards a direct media and governmental concept that we mustn't trust foreigners (from EU policy to foreign war policies and anti-terror legislation).
Australia may be behind in a lots of fields, but in the field of deep-seated racism and violence, it is leagues ahead today.
I would understand that news regarding which leader is elected here or there, what the sports-people are doing etc would be totally irrelevant, but Australia's welfare, workplace and human rights/civil liberties laws are crushing Australia and its people (all of them) very fast under the Howard govt. The same will soon be working in a similiar fashion here.

Malaysia institutes racist policy which benefits it's largest ethnic group, but they also happen to be the poorer of the groups.
Australia institutes racist policy which benefits it's largest racial group, but they also happen to be the richer of the groups.
It's odd to compare two forms of racism but I wouldn't agree that the Australian form is any less pernicious.
