his morning’s Make Poverty History demo in Bradford was a small affair with around 15 people, most of whom knew each other. We gave out fliers and had the local newspaper take photos of us. We stood around in the open area where we’d been told to rather than attempting to take the market area which arguably could have been more usefull. Effective? No. Worthwhile? Probably - we got to meet up and chat, we gave out all of our fliers - some of which may actually be read. So although what happened today isn’t going to make poverty history, it will hopefully get local press coverage and so keep the issues in the minds of people on the verge of becoming activists.
