Fair Trade Fashion Show Thurs 8th 7PM Blind Institute

EM | 04.12.2005 21:42 | Sheffield

Thursday 8th December; 7PM at the Blind Institute on Mappin Street; £2 on the door; an event to highlight the fight against sweatshop labour, and feed and entertain you... Bring good old clothes to swap at the Free Shop!

On thursday the 8th of December (Blind Institute, Mappin Street, 7PM, £2 on the door), ISYF and other organisations will be putting together a fashion show with a difference. Every item of clothing used will be ethically sourced. Suppliers of ethical clothes will be on hand to hawk their wares, and other ways of fighting sweated labour, such as union solidarity and political action will be discussed.

There will also be a Free Shop where you can exchange nice old threads for new nice old threads (so bring some along), music from jazz wizards the Aboriginals (and friends), and food from New Roots and a lovely big curry.

Good idea but this event clashes with Matilda stuff and with the Sheff Green Party AGM, other things too no doubt.
There used to be an active group in Sheffield called "Sheffield For Fair World Trade".
How about that!

So what
