There were truly insane numbers of police present for such a very fluffy protest. Tower bridge was cleared of tourists and pedestrians - no stopping by anyone allowed - even for photos. Fit team were much in evidence of course. There was a sudden lock-on blockade across Tower Hill attempting to stop the fat cat's coach but it had already taken a different route.

just a tiny factual point about the police horses

in the interests of accuracy, i'd like to mention there seemed to be some unconnected large police operation at london bridge station. this involved many police vans, the station was flooded with police, and the horses were on standby outside.

although they were near enough that they could have been deployed at tower bridge, i don't think that was their brief.

Tis true I snapped that large group of horses outside the station and was puzzled that they didn't seem to follow us. However I did see another 2 horses on Tower bridge in front of the white tower during all the protests but the lamp post made it a crappier pic.
