George Best: Saint or Sinner?

I thought I'd ask you readers what they think about the issues surrounding his football genius, his drink problem and the media frenzy following his death...
For me as someone who like football the choice is simple.
Best spent most of his life drinking far beyond excess. As someone who works with people with drug and alcohol problems I find it unbelieveable that the tributes of him are being portrayed as the 'greatest' but a bit of a flawed genius.
On the one hand I see people who will never the get the chances that he has had to deal with their addiction, struggle to stabilise. Alcohol is arguably the most difficult addiction to overcome, but lets not forget the drunken wife beating.
On the other hand the definition of a great is someone who was outstanding in their era, proved themself at the highest level and was a role model. Best could only tick one of these boxes.
