Rally against Trident Replacement - Broad Street, Oxford

2pm - November 26th

This Saturday, 26 November there will be a public rally against the
proposed replacement of the Trident nuclear missile. The Trident
missile is soon to be withdrawn from service and the government is
intending to spend billions developing a successor to this weapon of mass destruction. Apart from the obvious ramifications for global
peace and stability, it is blatant hypocrisy on Britain's part to be
developing new nuclear weapons, when at the same time the US and UK governments are making aggressive overtures and applying pressure on countries such as Iran and North Korea for the developing their nuclear power industry under the pretext of WMD. Does anything sound familiar here?

We must vigorously oppose this replacement to the Trident. All weapons of mass destruction are immoral; if other countries are not to have them then neither should we. The Rally is being organized by Oxford Youth and Student CND in collaboration with other peace and anti-war groups in the Oxford area. Oxford Stop the War Coalition is a participant in this event. There will be a series of speakers, stalls/displays and music.

The Rally takes place a 2 pm this Saturday, November 26 in Broad Street, Oxford. Whether you are a participant of OSTWC or one of the many other groups joining in this event please do try and come.
