Sheffield No Borders Public Meeting - "No One Is Illegal"
Saturday Dec 3rd, 2pm, SADACCA Community Centre, 48 The Wicker, Burngreave
Saturday Dec 3rd, 2pm, SADACCA Community Centre, 48 The Wicker, Burngreave
Immigration Minister Tony McNulty was recently asked about Section 9 of the 2004 Asylum and Immigration Act. His words were that it would "influence" asylum seekers to "voluntarily return" to their country of origin. The act seeks to "influence" by withdrawing all state support, accomodation and threatening to take the children of "failed" asylum seekers into care.
Sheffield's Kurdish community is now being "influenced" to return to Iraq by being evicted from their accommodation harassed on the street by police and immigration officials. Return to northern Iraq is extremely dangerous for Iraqi Kurds - reports about those already forcibly deported confirm their fears: Iraq is not safe.
Karwan, an Iraqi Kurd recently deported by night from the UK, handcuffed and beaten in a military plane: "I was taken onto the plane like an animal, not a human". Are there no depths to which the Home Office will sink? Dressed in military uniform, he was dumped without anything at Irbil airport in northern Iraq. We don't know what has happened to him since.
This No Borders meeting wil be an opportunity to organise practical support for Sheffield's Iraqi Kurdish community.
We will also hear from those families, activists and trade unionists who are fighting against immigration legislation and for their right to live and work where they choose.
We need to organise and to use our "influence" to scrap immigration controls. Come to the meeting.

REALITY CHECK

THE WHOLE POINT FROM A MORAL POINT OF VIEW IS THAT THE REFUGEES SHOULD GO BACK TO IRAQ AND BEGIN TO REBULD THEIR OWN COUNTRY AS THE TYRANT THAT IS SADDAM HUSSEIN IS NO LONGER ABLE TO HURT THEM...YES THERE IS STILL TERROR ATTACKS AND SUICIDE BOMBS BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN IRAQI PEOPLE CANT GO BACK AND TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE TERRORISTS AND BEGIN TO RE-BUILD THEIR OWN COUNTRY...LOOK AT ISRAEL YOU DONT SEE THE ISRAELIS FLEEING TO OTHER COUNTRYS EVERY TIME SOMEONE BOMBS THEIR OWN COUNTRY.
MOST IRAQI REFGUEES WHO LIVE OVER HERE IN EUOROPE AND AMERICA WERE EXILES FROM THE DAYS OF SADDAM HUSSEINS RULE
NOW SADDAM HAS GONE THERE IS NO REASON FOR REFUGEES TO STAY HERE IF THEY DONT WANT TO
MOST REFUGEES ONLY LEAVE THEIR OWN COUNTRY DUE TO THE CURRENT REGIME IN THE COUNTRY AT THAT TIME.
BUT EVEN THO IRAQ IS FAR FROM STABLE AT THE MOMENT SURELY THE IDEAL SITUATION IS THAT MOST OF THE REFUGEES GO BACK THERE TO HELP RE-BUILD THERE OWN COUNTRY
SURLELY THE QUICKER IRAQ BECOMES STABLE AND THE QUICKER THE IRAQI PEOPLE RE-BUILD THEIR OWN COUNTRY THEN THE QUICKER THE TROOPS CAN COME HOME..COS U CAN REST ASSURED THE SAME PEOPLE PROTESTING AGAINST REFUGEES GOING BACK TO IRAQ ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE PROTESTING THAT THE TROOPS ARE STILL IRAQ AND THE IRAQIS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RUN THEIR OWN COUNTRY..WELL THATS COS THERE ARNT ENOUGH IRAQIA WHO ARE WILLING TO WORK FOR THE IRAQI POLICE AND ARMY..THERE ISNT ENOUGH PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO HELP THE GOVERNMENT RE-BUILD THEIR OWN COUNTRY.
THATS COS OF THE MILLIONS OF REFUGEES AND EXILES FROM IRAQ WHO ARE STILL ETHIER REFUSING TO GO BACK OR WHO HAVE BEE TOO SCARED.
THE ONLY ONES WHO I PERSONALLY WOULD ALLOW TO STAY ARE THOSE WHO HAVE MADE A CONTRIBUTION TO THE COUNTRYS ECONOMY IN ETHIER GETTING OR JOB OR STARTING A BUSINESS
IF THEY HAVE FAMILY AND ARE JUST CLAIMING BENEFIT
THEN THEY SHOULD ETHIER GET OF THEIR ASS AND WORK OR GO HOME AND HELP RE-BUILD THEIR OWN COUNTRY
THE POINTS IN THIS REPLY ARE IN NO WAY RACIST FACIST OR DISCRIMATORY
ITS A REALITY CHECK!!!
