Israel deserves better

Digery Cohen | 21.11.2005 11:55

The Psycho and Peres are useless.

The psycho in action
The psycho in action

Israel deserves better.

The people of Israel deserve better than The Psychopath of Sabra and Peres.

Their new party, called ‘Selbst Alleine Zion’, which is Yiddish for ‘Zion Alone’
will be worse than even the Likud.

Peretz is the only hope for Israel.

The Psychopath and his criminal family with their lackey, Peres, will never bring peace to Israel.

Peres is just a mouth that could not even win an election in his own family.

Their future election would condemn Israel to years of suicide bombs and dead children.

It is time for Israel to live in peace with the Palestinians.

This is possible.

All Israel has to do is withdraw from the West Bank, forget about Jerusalem and let the refugees from all of Palestine back to the West Bank with full compensation for their ethnic cleansing since 1948.

The Israelis can build another Jerusalem, like Solomon did, but this time beside the sea in Tel Aviv.

Surely they could build, with modern technology, a beautiful temple there and live in peace for once in millennia.

The brightest and most talented people on earth could then return to their high values and knowledge which they had before we, the Europeans, burned 6,000,000 of our best citizens 65 years ago.

They cannot forgive us for that. I know that.

But they must make peace with their Palestinians neighbours and live in peace with their emetic brothers with whom they have so mush in common.

Ignoramus

21.11.2005 13:10

Digery, you start your article with a photoshopped picture as if Sharon wants to burn the Palestinians in Sabra. For your information you ignoramus, it was CHRISTIANS who rampaged and killed the poor Muslims in Sabra and Shatilla. Get that in your thick head.

Next thing you spout off is: "Their new party, called ‘Selbst Alleine Zion". Excuse me, what crap. It's called "National Responsibility Party". Not that I'm in favour of it, but you would do well to stop gabbling nonsense.

Your next point: "Their future election would condemn Israel to years of suicide bombs and dead children. " Why? Why can the Palestinians not accept an election result in another country without going on murder sprees? And you call Sharon the psychopath???

Your most suicidal point: "All Israel has to do is withdraw from the West Bank, forget about Jerusalem and let the refugees from all of Palestine back to the West Bank with full compensation for their ethnic cleansing since 1948." Uh huh. If that is the case, why were wars launched against Israel before she held any of these territories? Do you actually intend that Israel consist of Tel Aviv by the Sea and that's it?

You state: "The Israelis can build another Jerusalem, like Solomon did, but this time beside the sea in Tel Aviv. " WHY should Israel have to rebuild her capital next to the sea??? Jerusalem has always been Jewish. It has always been where it is now. It was never Palestinian. Before Israel's existence it was under British Mandate and under Ottoman Empire rule. It was only clamed by the Palestinians AFTER 1967 when Israel won it. They were never interested in it before. No Moslem leader ever visited the Temple Mount between 1948 and 1967 when they were the rulers. On the contrary the Moslems destroyed every single synagogue in the Jewish Quarter and forbade Jewish prayer or presence at any of the Jewish holy places during that time, despite all their agreeements with the UN.

"They cannot forgive us for that. I know that". You're darned right there mate.

And now let's see how long my comment stays up (if it goes in at all) before the "unbiased" censors at Indymedia take it down. I'm betting on 10 minutes.

how about where they came from in the first place?

21.11.2005 13:49

Digery Cohen you said and i quote

"...let the refugees from all of Palestine back to the West Bank .... "

How about letting them return to where they lived before 1948? That being what is now, Israel but was once Palestine.

Why should be allowed just to the West Bank and not their home where they were ethnically cleansed from in 1948? That is where they should be allowed to return to and live.

Right of Return to all Palestinians

Israel and Palestine

21.11.2005 16:00

It's ammusing to think there are still people who think the problems of the area are still related to 1948, land claims, Jewish / Palestinian right of return and all the others.

We all need to come to terms with the facts. This is about money, lots of money. The reason Northern Ireland took so long to deal with was because nobody could talk about in public what was the major stumbling block to peace, the money being made by both Loyalist and Republican sides in areas such as drugs, protection and gambling. The situation is similar in Israel and the Palestinian areas. Israeli industry needs an ongoing 'defence threat' to allow it continue to make equipment for the IDF, The PLO, Hamas and the other groups need a continuing conflict to justify their control of overseas funding and the lifestyles supported by it.

In the same way senior sectarian leaders in Northern Ireland had pretend jobs created for them to enable the UK government to pay them money to live on a similar process must be created for both sides in the Middle East. Clinton recognised this with his suggestion of a "Council of Control" but this failed because Arafat still wanted to play Palestinian President.

Pay these people off and let's start saving lives

Palestine Never Exisated

21.11.2005 16:18

"That being what is now, Israel but was once Palestine."

Tha basic problem, is that ther NEVER was a "palestine".
in 1947, a "palestinian" was a Jew living in the region. All the other people were Arabs, claimed by Egypt, Syria or Trans Jordan.
The vast majority of "palestinians still hold Jordanina passports, because of the 20 year OCCUPATION of Judea and Samaria.
If "palestinians" were allowed the "right of return" most would have to go back to either: Egypt, Yemen, Algeria, Tunisia, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon etc.....

A bit heavy

21.11.2005 16:21

What Digery Cohen wrote was a bit heavy but he has got the right to his opinion.

However is are a few holes in his post.

I will mention the main one. He mentions about the holocaust and the Europeans blah blah blah.

Actually the most pro-peace and non-racist Jews in Israel are the European Germanic/Polish Jews. In general the Polish Jews vote for the Peace Parties while the Arab-Jews and Sephardi Jews vote for the right-wing. Of course this is not 100% true but in general the voting does lean that way.

21.11.2005 16:26

Jeff,

Thanks for saying out loud what a lot of people in Tel Aviv are saying. Give the leaders of both sides some money to piss off and stop creating problems that don't exist half the time so they can contniue to justify their exisistence. And whille you are at it stop groups like the ISM with their trendy US and European know-it-all's who are part of the probelm not to mention Zionist nutcases from New York with similar ideas about the area but an opposing view of whose to blame.

Yes there was no Palestine in 1948

21.11.2005 17:29

But there was no Israel either. My question is what gave Israel teh right to exist and why didnt the same people give Palestine teh right to exist. Instead they have allowed Israel to constantly expand into land occupied by Palestinians and violate resolution upon resolution.

Im not of the opinion that Israel shouldnt exist but israel should definately recognise the borders set to it and exit from the places where it commits crime upon crime against Palestinians.

Rejected Partition

21.11.2005 19:25

"But there was no Israel either. My question is what gave Israel teh right to exist and why didnt the same people give Palestine teh right to exist"

The answer to that is quite simple. The UN offered partition, which would have creaed both Israel an a new Arab state. Israel accepted partition. The Arabs rejected partition, and instead chose the path of war. Trans-Jordan, which became a nation in 1947 attacked Israel, along with Syria, Iraq nd Egypt.
Trans Jordan captured and renamed Judea and Samaria...it became the "west bank". Jordan occupied the territories for 20 years, until they finally lost the territories during the Six Day War, anohter in a string of aggressive arab wars of anihilation..
So, had the Arabs accepted partition there would be a "palestinian state" today.
The basic problem of course is that Syria viewed all the land , including Israel, as greater Syria. The Trans-Jordanians viewed the land as part of the mega pan-Arab state.
Egypt invaded and captured the Gaza, Egypt, like Jordan annexed "palestinian" territory and occupoed the Gaza for 20 years.
There were no "palestininians" until the territories were lost by the Arab nations.

Last I checked

21.11.2005 20:46

Israel has not been attacked by any of them for over 20 years now and on the other hand has occupied Lebanon, a part of Jordan, and almost all of what should be Palestine whilst managing to go against the UN on over 70 listed occasions. So. Israel is not in danger o being invaded, and still occupies Palestinian land. As for figures of casualties, dont even try to compare Israeli deaths over Palestinian ones.

So cmon whats your excuse now?

any good ones?

Relinquished Annexed Territories

21.11.2005 22:36

" So. Israel is not in danger o being invaded, and still occupies Palestinian land"

That's only because Jordan and Egypt realize that trade is better than war. And, Syria has been very busy with it's own OCCUPATION of Lebanon.
Besides, once Egypt and Jordan annexed "palestinian" land, it became theirs. Both relinquished claim to the territories when they were defeated during the Six Day War, and refused to negotiate. You must also remeber that Israel returned the Sinai to Egypt. So now, the "palestinians" have Gaza But in reality, Egypt will take control. Most Gazans alive today were born after the Egyptian occupation, they don't know what they're in for, Egypt has never been as kind as Israel has to the "palestinians".

Alois Brunner

to "some Palestine"

21.11.2005 22:41

You said that an Israel was created but not a Palestine. But the UN resolution created both an Israel and a Palestine, two-states living side by side. The Jews accepted the judgement of the world, the Arabs refused it, vowed to annihiliate the Jewish state and take it all for themselves. Israel, however, won the war, and the planned Palestinian state's territory came partially under the control of Israel and partially under Jordanian and Egyptian control. Neither of those Arab states created a Palestine. There would have been one, tho, had the Arabs accepted the UN's two-state recommendation.

Where they came from?

22.11.2005 07:10

You ask "how about where they came from in the first place?"

Oh there's a great idea!

All the Jews who were expelled from Iran could go back there, the Jews of Syria would no doubt be welcomed with open arms and the Jews of Egypt could pick up where they left off...

You idiot.

Although written as clever satire, this article:  http://thepeoplescube.com/red/viewtopic.php?t=307 pretty much sums up how deluded your fantasies of Israel really are.

As for the Palestinian history - there isn't one. If you disagree, I defy you to name a SINGLE Palestinian leader prior to Yasser Arafat. You can't, as opposed to Jews who can trace unbroken presence since before Jesus.

That's in case you want to discuss history. How about you concentrate on the present instead? The present reality, is there are a bunch of Palestinian Arabs and a bunch of Jews. They could co-exist peacefully, were that palatable to the Palestinians. Regrettably it isn't, and like every Arab country that tried to destroy Israel, they will continue to be losers until they can get use to the idea that Jews should be allowed to live.

That doesnt mean that we wont allow discussions and all points of view to be heard. Unlike all the other media which reports the lamest of news andhides the teal ground stories which is what journalists should really report on.

As for the guy who thinks Israel treats Palestinians well. tell that to the thousands of Palestinian men women and children who have died from Israels ccupying army over the past 30-40 years. They dont have the right to be there. the oslo treaty is being constantly violated by Israel not withdrawing from the occupying territories as agreed in 92. And lets not even start comparing civillian death toll coz thats when ul find out who ther real fascists are.

Assault on the Intellect

22.11.2005 17:57

"And lets not even start comparing civillian death toll coz thats when ul find out who ther real fascists are."

Certainly, we shouldn't discuss fatalities caused by the bloody intifda. It would shed a poor light on the "palestinians" and we never want to do that.
It would reveal that the palestinians target civilians. Use their own children as explosive delivery devices. Add "shahids" to the list of causualties. Fabricate "massacres". And the fact that the "palestinins" have used the tried and true tactic of surrounding weapons caches and "brave" warriors with civilians, both women and children.
It would also show that the Israelis have shown remarkable restraint in the face of a deadly enemy.
It would also remind us of Black September, where Jordan slaughtered more palestinians in three weeks than all of those killed during their 60 year war against Israel.
It's not a game of checkers.

We could then join hands with our Muslim brothers and sing Kumbaya in Arabic.

22.11.2005 20:26

Now that Indymedia censors deleted my first comment on this post (by the way I was pretty accurate in guessing that my comment would stay up only about 10 minutes, because it was a pro-Israel comment) I expect the censors to delete Ultra anarchist's comment too for being Nazi-like. Calling for Israel to be destroyed/wiped off the map is pure Nazism. You don't ask for any other country to be destroyed do you? It's always just the Jews. As far as you are concerned, get rid of the Jews and all will be well with the world.

Tough luck all of you. We aren't going anywhere.

"Well kennedy if the shooting of 5 yr olds is showing resraint and the illegal occupation of a foreign recognised land is something good then you need to get your head checked."

The territories are disputed. Affter 20 years of illegal occupation and colonization, both the Jordanians and Egyptians relinquished their claims to the lands they invaded and annexed.
Foreign recognised? The lands in question were held by the Ottomons for 400 years, by the UK for 20, by Jordan and Egypt for 20yrs and by the "palestinians" never....
Regarding the shooting of a five year old...both sides are guilty of those crimes. Or is it only justified when a brave warrior of Islam shoots 2 year old at point blank range in the face.
And yes, Israel has shown remarkable restraint, considering that they are so well armed.
Perhaps you would prefer if Israel played by what is known as "Hama Rules", it seemed to work quite well for the Syrians and no one seems to mind.

Read the olso treaty and find out what your disputed territories really are. Israel should have withdrawn from these 'disputed' territories ages ago according to the treaty which Israel signed. To begin with, the UN resolutions are all non-binding. Now regarding the Oslo Accord...what did the Palestinian side do to honor the treaty? Absolutely nothing. What was their response to the Camp David meetings? War, bloody intifada....

When do you think the UN will propose a resolution condemning the use of children by the palestinians as explosives? When do you suppose attacks on Israeli civilians will be condemned? The answer of course, is never. That's why israel defends herself, and pays little heed to the "international" community Jews have realized, after 2000 years of abuse that the "international" community prefers them to be dead.

23.11.2005 22:08

Well actually you are wrong at everything u say.

Arafat has never been linked with the 2nd Intifada (post oslo 1992) There has never been any proof that the Palestinian government funded or supplied the violent ressistance in Palestine. Thererfore in theory the oslo agreement was kept by the Palestinian elected government. Whereas the Israeli government did the opposite. It expanded further into Palestinian land and has killed far more Palestinian civillians than vise versa. Now lets take the other claim that Palestinians use children as suicide bombers. U find me the evidence coz the only thing i remember hearing was one incident where the israeli authorities caught some1 attempting to blow themselves up at a checkpoint and said the person was aged 9. 1 day later he was 11. then 15. and finally 18. Kind of like the de Menenzes shooting. Weraing a coat and ruksack and running. then no coat, then no sack, and then he was actually walking even stopping to get the paper. Fascist regimes act alike.

24.11.2005 13:47

"Arafat has never been linked with the 2nd Intifada"

HA HA HA

Are you serious?

Arafat was 100% the cause of the 2nd Intifada

An Israeli government report states;

 http://www.mfa.gov.il/mfa/mfaarchive/2000_2009/2002/5/the+involvement+of+arafat-+pa+senior+officials+and.htm

Executive Summary

1. During Operation Defensive Shield, the IDF captured numerous documents (only some of which have so far been examined) and obtained much information from the questioning of captured terrorists. Both the documents and the information point at the direct and indirect involvement of Arafat, the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Palestinian intelligence apparatuses in the operation of a well oiled system which engaged in the execution of terrorist attacks against Israel.

2. Throughout the years of the political process with Israel, Arafat preserved and developed the tool of violence (the non-eradication of the Hamas terror infrastructure, development of the military capabilities of the security forces and consolidation of the Tanzim as a means for activating the street, arming and preparing it for "D-Day"). Arafat also employed terrorism against Israel, in varying intensity, whenever he felt that the Oslo track was diverting from its course - as defined by the Palestinians. This, in the framework of Arafat's strategic concept which views terror as a legitimate tool for obtaining Palestinian national goals. Arafat, throughout his years of leadership, systematically combined political negotiations and violence, while determining the balance between the two according to the circumstances.

3. During the present confrontation, Arafat's employment of terrorism reached new peaks, while refraining from restraining the terror activity directed by the various organizations (Islamic and Fatah), he gave terrorism "free reign" (by releasing senior terrorists from prison and refrained from carrying out minimal counter-terrorist activity) and even encouraged terrorism (inciting the Palestinian population - the "Shahid speeches", financing and fostering terrorists).

4. The involvement of the PA and its leader Arafat, as evidenced in the documents and from questioning of captured terrorists, has three dimensions: The ideological dimension, which essentially means the sanctioning of lethal terrorist attacks (viewed as quality attacks which serve the PA's goals) and the use of terrorism as an important tool in promoting the Palestinians' goals vis-a-vis Israel; the financial dimension, continuous financing of the terrorist infrastructure, personally approved by Arafat and carried out by the PA civilian institutions, the heads of the PA security apparatuses and Arafat's associate (Fuad Shubaki); the practical dimension, involvement of the PA intelligence apparatuses, led by the General Intelligence, in direct and indirect assistance to the terror infrastructures and activities, including in the perpetration of lethal terrorist attacks inside Israel.

5. The captured documents prove unequivocally that the Fatah organization and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades are one and the same and they cannot be separated. The documents clearly indicate that not only are the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades a pseudonym for terrorist attacks carried out by Fatah, but they are also a terrorist apparatus, which up until IDF operation Defensive Shield was in the process of institutionalization and intensification of its suicide and murderous attacks. The captured documents demonstrate that Arafat and other senior Fatah officials (Marwan Barghouti is of note) are the leaders of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and they finance its terror activities. According to one of the documents, Arafat is well aware of the negative implications of the terrorist attacks carried out by the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades at the time of General Zinni's stay in Israel, and the inclusion of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in the US State Department's list of terror organizations. Therefore, he tried to deny that Fatah and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades are identical, and distanced himself from them.

6. The terror supporting policy adopted by the PA enabled all terror groups, those directed affiliated to Fatah as well as opposition groups, to broaden and consolidate their infrastructure in the PA areas, while exploiting the civilian population for the terror infrastructure.

7. As in the past, now too, the terrorist activities inspired by Arafat are directed first and foremost against defenseless civilians. These attacks are designed to harm Israelis and Jews wherever they are, although there are victims of other nationalities too, including Arabs (such as Israeli Arabs) and foreign citizens of various nationalities.

8. In addition, corruption is rampant in the PA, it includes irregularities in the administration, management of the Palestinian economy by monopolies which enable the financial rewarding of senior PA officials and their families. In addition, the distribution of PA money amongst the Palestinian population was characterized by inequality and created large gaps between the majority of the Palestinian population and senior PA officials who enjoy a high standard of living, the expropriation of lands, and altering verdicts by bribery and threatening the lives of judges.

The Involvement of Arafat, PA Senior Officials and PA Security Apparatuses in Terrorism against Israel, Corruption and Crime

General

1. During Operation Defensive Shield, the IDF captured numerous documents (most of which have not yet been thoroughly examined) and at the same time, initial information has been obtained from the questioning of terrorists arrested during the operation. From the information which has already accumulated, the clear involvement of some senior PA officials - led by Arafat and the apparatuses - in direct and indirect terror activity has been unveiled. Arafat's strategic choice to take the route of terror for implementation of his political goals, was translated into practice by the formulation of the ideological dimension by Arafat and his senior officials, upon which the terrorist activity was based and thus gave a "license" to terrorism as an important component of PA policy in the struggle against Israel. This, at the same time as ongoing financing of the terror infrastructures with Arafat's personal approval and with the involvement of the PA intelligence apparatuses led by the General Intelligence, in direct and indirect financial aid to the terror infrastructures and activities, including for the perpetration of lethal terrorist attacks inside Israel.
