Dear Radio Friend,
The latest Shortwave Report (November 11) is up at the website
in both broadcast quality (13.3MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (29:00)

This week's show features stories from China Radio International, Radio Netherlands, Spanish National Radio, the Voice of Russia, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From CHINA- The Chinese government is strengthening measures against bird flu, 3 Chinese are suspected of having contracted the disease. The director of the IAEA says that N Korea and Iran need to feel secure in the international realm to be willing to abandon nuclear weapons development. China announced a 5-year plan to step up development of renewable energy sources.
From NETHERLANDS-As the second member of Saddam Hussein's legal team was murdered, more questions surfaced about his chance of receiving a fair trial. Peru's former president Fujimori was arrested in Chile while waiting to return to Peru to attempt to run in the next presidential election. Then a press review of the riots in France, questioning whether the unrest could spread to other European nations.
From SPAIN- More details on the French riots and the copycat events in Germany and Portugal.
From RUSSIA- While in Panama, Bush stated that his administration had never ordered prisoners tortured, though he is fighting to prevent a law banning torture of prisoners.
From CUBA- A Viewpoint on the results of the UN vote on removing the US trade embargo on Cuba. According to some US officials, there is an active debate about an Iraq style regime change in Syria.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via
There are several other streams that work better- Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am (PST)
Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)-
streaming the SWR, check out the schedule.
And the Partytown streams are great and informative- (13.3MB)
