Blair is now an embarrassment

Senators Schumer, Reid and Derbin yesterday closed the Senate for 3 hours.

They are intent on getting a full and final investigation how we got into war in Iraq.

This will be no Hutton.

Cheney and Rove will go.

The fallout for Blair will catastrophic as the information coming out of this investigation and further criminal trials in the US will show Blair for what he is.

This information will come drip by drip and paralyse the administration this country and the US.

Our wisest move now would be to dump Blair and then we would always be able to say it was just an ex-premier.

He could go and hide in the Bahamas or one of Berlasconies villas.

His continued presence is no longer in our national interest.

He could also bring the New-Labour sleaze with him.

Can you imagine Gordon Brown in a nightclub with some chaps from the Middle East and their blonds?

No, certainly not.

Gordon’s idea of a good night out is to sit beside the fire at home having a leisurely browse through some balance sheet or casting a quiet eye on the reports in the FT.

This is what we need now. A proper leader.
