The Campaign for Drawing invites everyone to join in, using drawing as an enjoyable tool for engaging with the past, present and future.

The sixth Big Draw runs throughout October 2005 (with a special focus on Saturday 15).

The sixth Big Draw! Drawing Power has a simple aim - to get everyone drawing. The Campaign for Drawing was initiated by a small charity founded by John Ruskin, the great Victorian artist, writer and visionary. Ruskin saw drawing as the basis of visual thought. His mission was not to teach people how to draw, but how to see.

Over 1300 events across the UK each October demonstrate drawing's power to make us see, think, invent, act and enjoy. To find an event in your area, visit www.thebigdraw.org.uk. 1000 venues will join in countrywide, so there should be something to interest all ages and abilities. And click here for fun online drawing ideas for children offered by 24 Hour Museum.

The 2005 Big Draw's national launch in London united eight leading institutions on Exhibition Road, South Kensington on 2 October. The following weekend (8/9 Oct), the Big Draw season kicked off with 11 regional launches in Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Chatham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, Newtownards, Norwich, Nottingham and Swansea.

Other event acress the East Midlands, listed at:  http://www.thebigdraw.org.uk/db05/results.asp?RAB=5
