God on Indymedia

Dear friends I wish you all well. In the interest of balance, could we please have a topic for the Lord Jesus Christ?

I am member of an Evangelist Church in London and I would like to use this board to advertise our meetings and prayers, I think it is specially needed here as most of people here have given up hope in Jesus.

I was concerned that advertising the Church meetings may not be welcome but after reading some other posts that have not been deleted, (one of many examples:  https://publish.indymedia.org.uk/en/2005/10/325104.html) I think maybe you will allow me to advertise the Church activities in here.

If that is not the case please let me know.

Thank you and God Bless you all

James

Jesus Christ was an activist against the Romans so if you can use indymedia to persuade your Church to get active against corporations then go for it, get publishing

However if you are thinking of trying to 'convert' us heathans to a blinkered dogmatic one dimensional view of christianity (Which Jesus himself would laugh at) then no thanks.

The UK Indymedia mission statement declares "we reject all systems of domination and discrimination". Though I'm sure you have the best intentions and don't see it as such, the fact remains that Christianity supports both of these. Therefore you should not be allowed to publicise church meetings here.

Well James, without seeming unkind, I smell Troll. Tony Blair uses the so-called Christian Church to further his plans of Planetary Genocide, in the self same way that his predecessor Adolf Hitler did.

You are not stupid- you know that religious people have often pushed political agendas GOOD and BAD- you know Indymedia is a political site- and yet your post contains no political references whatsoever. I SMELL TROLL.

Your post runs against the rules of this site, and you are using that old Religious trick of pretend innocence and politeness to hope that people will be too embarrassed to follow their own rules.

George W. Bush stated that YOUR god told him and Tony Blair to genocide 300,000+ humans in Iraq. Perhaps you would like to give us YOUR clear views about Bush and Blair? Perhaps you would like to tell us how much time is spent condemning their crimes in your church? Perhaps you would like to reassure us that no-one is EVER told that 'god is on our side' when it comes down to british soldiers committing the most horrific crimes in another land?

Blair hasn't given up 'hope' in jesus, nor has Blair's appointed CoE chief goon, Rowan Williams. Both think that if enough people can be distracted in their fear with a good dose of PATRIOTIC religion (see Rwanda), all crimes become possible.

You said 'in the interest of balance'. I say 'how dare you'. Your christian church (as with the muslim and jewish faith) seeks the very opposite of balance. Instead, you seek to tip all of humanity into the same pit of fear, superstition, and hatred of others and self.

Jesus said 'love your neighbour as you love yourself', and then made it clear that THIS was the end of the story. Good words, and if followed, lead directly to the DEATH of all organised religion, and all SICK worship of so-called gods. The history of christianity is the DENIAL of the words of your founder- isn't that ironic.
