Men say No to Male Violence against women

White Ribbon Campaign UK | 07.10.2005 16:50 | Gender

Men in the UK have launched a branch of the White Ribbon Campaign. The campaign was founded in Canada, adn now operates in more than 20 countries around the world. Men wear the badge or ribbon as a reminder and pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence to women

Why doesn't Sven Goran Ericcson campaign against Violence against Women ?

White Ribbon Campaign has launched in the UK. Men pledge not to commit, condone or remain silent about violence to women. The Austrian Football Coach Hans Krankl is one of the thousands of Austrian men who have publicly joined the Austrian White Ribbon Campaign. However in the uK it's much harder to reach opinion formers,.

Men are starting to take responsibility for campaigning to put an end to the violence which affects 1 in 4 women.
The organisation in the UK has members who make a commitment to ending the violence which men use against women on an almost routine basis. Men involved in the White Ribbon Campaign take part in educational activities with young men and with co workers and friends to persuade them to pledge never to commit condone or remain silent about violence against women. Wearing a ribbon is a reminder to others and to yourself to take action to change behaviour.
At a recent meeting Cherie Booth was presented with a white ribbon to give to Tony Blair., but it's up to the campaign to create an atmosphere when he feels obliged to wear it..
"Where the campaign started in Canada, hundreds of thousands of men have been involved, and it's time men in the UK took some responsibility," said Chris Green, Chair of the Campaign. If the Austrian campaign can get Krankl involved, we want to see Beckham, Rooney and Roy Keane to take a stand.

"it's up to the campaign to create an atmosphere when he feels obliged to wear it.."

As in, men who won't wear ribbons obviously condone violence against women?

And also... if you refuse to carry a biometric I.D. you must be a terrorist?

How about Tony wearing a blood-red ribbon to signify he condones mass-murder?

when did you stop beating your wife?

There is a simple logic here-
THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO SHOULD WEAR THE RIBBON ARE THOSE WHO USED TO BEAT WOMEN, AND HAVE STOPPED DOING SO BECAUSE THEY RECOGNISE IT IS WRONG!!!

In the scheme of things, of course, the vast majority of violence that occurs on this Earth happens to males. The violence is likewise almost always carried out by males. However, now that women have the vote, state violence is AUTHORISED 50% by women!!!

Thus, women are now exercising a major say in the worst violence that occurs, without suffering an equal part of the consequences. This is an interesting philosophical problem, and has yet to be addressed by anyone.

Back to the psy-ops of the original piece. Men are bad blah, blah, blah, so let's conscript them into Blair's future armies, while denying them the chance to warn against Blair's true intentions.

Blair is as female friendly as a repeat rapist with aids, and a taste for sexual violence. Watch him become the figurehead for movements like this though.

BY THE WAY, what about female violence against men??? Relationship violence becomes OK when the genders are reversed??? Most humans, male and female, are gentle, and EQUALLY do not deserve to be victims. And don't give me crap about males being stronger- the vast majority of relationship abuse is NOT about strength, but willingness to use violence.

Where you see sexism, you see an agenda, and where you see an agenda, you find people who are NOT what they say they are!!!

I am starting a campaign about violence against men. Does anybody want to buy a bracelet? Given that by conservative estimates, between a quarter to a third of domestic violence is carried out by womyn, I think this campaign is terribly worthwhile. What's more I would suspect that with their smart mouthes and cunning ways that womyn probably provoke the majority of domestic violence incidents.

What do you say to a woman with two black eyes? See title.
