Tree Felling in Sefton Park

New plans for Sefton Park could see the felling of hundreds of trees.

Save the trees in Sefton Park…..

Sefton Park may be unrecognisable in a few years. There is a bid for the £5million heritage lottery fund that must be finalised soon. Most of the proposals are good but hundreds of trees will be coming down for design purposes. There will be some necessary tree loss due to disease etc... but we need to protest against needless felling.

The meetings with local residents about the plans have been at strange times, such as three o’clock on a Thursday afternoon. The next Sefton Park design meeting is on Monday Oct 10th at 10.30am at the Obelisk which is at the Ullet rd/aigburth drive junction or turn left at the Lark lane entrance and follow the road round to the Alicia hotel. The monument is opposite.

The designers and selected people from ‘Friends of Sefton Park’ will be there along with some council members. It is really important that as many people as possible get to this meeting to raise issues about the fundamental changes which will destroy much of the natural beauty of the park
