Join refugees in Glasgow protesting against racist detention and deportations. Protest march and rally, called for by children from Drumchapel Secondary School and Glasgow Campaign to Welcome Refugees: 11 am, Saturday 1st October. Meet at George Square.
"I would describe it as completely inhumane, I think we're terrorising these children and families."
Kathleen Marshall, Children’s Commissioner for Scotland
On September 13th, the Vucaj family, Glasgow residents for the last five years, were awoken at dawn as a 16-strong gang of body-armoured police and immigration enforcers smashed down their door, dragging the family off to imprisonment. They have committed no crime. Their friends, neighbours and school friends are demanding their release and their return home.
This is not an isolated incident. This barbaric treatment happens daily in Scotland. And the people of Scotland have had enough.
On Saturday 1st October, come and add your voice to the public outcry called for by the Children’s Commissioner. For an end to barbaric deportations, for an end to detention, for the right to safety and freedom for all.
No One is Illegal!
