Wind Power to Destroy Economy?

Anti New Labour rant cut to Hypercane query

The start of Make Socialism impossible in the UK: New Labour Success, is snipped ..... friend had people in the Army placed to back up his political plans for Fascism. He himself changed a tune when he understood the economic disasters implicit in becoming an oil producing country. Will those agents now see the urgent necessity of a coup to throw out the false economics Brown uses to drive us to destruction. Will they take over tomorrow with fuel rationing and a full stop to aviation? Have they worked out how to ensure that no one starves or freezes in the coming economic collapse? Because no politiciian is addressing the coming problems.

Do not laugh too loud, what is going to happen with Typhoons and Cyclones? is the sea there as much warmer as it is in the Atlantic? Will there be more big winds in the Southern hemisphere too? The first hurricane recorded in Brazil arrived about two years ago. Get out of any syndicate that is giving weather cover or quadruple your premiums now.

What is the maximum possible wind speed? Looking for an answer to that I tried  http://tsr.mssl.ucl.ac.uk/ but that is not answered there.

Now found: "This is the ``hypercane'' regime. Numerical simulations in this regime produce very intense storms (with wind speeds near the speed of sound), and it has been speculated that such storms may have formed over pools of very hot water created by large asteroid impacts with the ocean. But we do not have to worry about hypercanes otherwise!"  http://wind.mit.edu/~emanuel/holem/holem.html

Yeah - But what will be the windspeed when the Methane from the thawing bog in Siberia pushes up the global temperature by twelve degrees? You are right on one thing, do not underwrite wind damege.

Political Return - US info

Have fun, and return to politics:

"States lose out, too, because they don’t receive the payroll and related taxes employers contribute on behalf of employees, and workers’ compensation premiums are lost. The U.S. Government Accounting Office projections estimated that misclassification of employees as independent contractors would reduce federal tax revenues by up to $4.7 billion by 2004.

A government-sponsored national unemployment audit found $436 million in underreported wages. A recent Massachusetts study found unpaid workers’ compensation premiums of $91 million a year due to independent contractor misclassification; $7 million of those unpaid premiums were in construction.

Finally, law-abiding businesses that do not misclassify their employees as independent contractors lose out, because they have to compete with those that misclassify and cut their labor costs. This lowers wages and benefits for all workers as firms race to the bottom to underbid each other in today’s competitive economies."
