Baylissgate Day 29

According to the financial accounts, under Assistant General Secretary Les Bayliss our union was donating £1/4 million a year across 3 charities: VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas), Express-Link-Up a childrens' charity and 'Flora and Fauna International' (FFI) patron HM the Queen, motto: 'Conserving Wildlife since 1903'. This last one seems a bizarre choice for the largest slice of members' subs (£87,000 in 2002, £50,000 in 2001). Especially when you look at their corporate partners:
BP
British American Tobacco
Vodafone
Rio Tinto Zinc

There is only one connection that we can find between FFI and amicus: In 'Project Life Lion' FFI partnered with Paradise Wildlife Park, director one Steve Sampson (Mr X), an incarcerated criminal, who coincidentally is the business associate, friend and ex-employer of Les Bayliss, head of the amicus charity.
