Meditation For Peace ~ This Evening!

Buddhist Peace Action | 14.09.2005 14:25 | DSEi 2005 | Anti-militarism | London

There will be a 'Meditation for Peace' in Parliament Square this evening at 5pm.

The event has been organised by local Buddhists but is an open invitation to anyone who wants to take a little time out during this week for silent (but public) meditation or prayer. We're inviting people to reflect on the victims of the arms trade generally, but especially those people - the future victims - who will suffer as a result of the DSEi arms fair in London this week.

THIS IS NOT A PROTEST. Protests are, as you know, not allowed in Parliament Square. It is an expression of religious freedom. We cannot guarantee however that the police will view it that way.

"May all beings be free from suffering, and from the causes of suffering."

Peace, Salaam, Shalom

Event on until 6.30pm-ish

14.09.2005 16:34

The event is starting now (5.30pm) - a little late. It should go on until around 6.30 -7pm. Do come along, even for a little while. Just come and go in your own time. Stay as long as you like. And if you like this kind of thing, do get details of an event happening tomorrow...

Blessings,

Karuna
