DSEi arrest Wednesday at Convergence

Andrew Minke | 14.09.2005 12:29 | DSEi 2005

Arrests and general harrassment at Convergence Space

Three arrests occurred as people left the Bullivant street DSEi Converence Space on Wednesday morning. Everyone leaving the building is being stopped and searched. The police cite that 'intelligence' suggests that protestors 'will be using distraction techniques and criminal damage to disrupt DSEi Arms Fair'. One of the arrests was for having 2 mobile phones, another for having spray paint and a third for 'going equiped to cause criminal damage' by carrying 2 marker pens!

a harsh truth

So, Blair's goons in blue act like goons... your point is?

Blair has exterminated 300,000+ humans in Iraq, and laid waste the country. He has created a 'legal' system where mercenaries in Iraq can commit any act, include rape, torture and murder, without fear of any punishment, within or without, now or in the future. He tortures children in front of their parents, and takes and rapes female hostages to coerce their male relatives into surrender.

Basically, if you want to understand Blair, think Fred West, but on a global scale. And for those union leaders, and MP's and others that support Blair, think Rose West.

So yes, Blair is going to mess up your little protest, with NO regard to the law, but with SOME regard as to what he can get away with at the moment. Another couple of years (or a lot less) and it won't be simple arrests, but beatings, detentions, torture and execution. Blair is going ALL THE WAY, and it isn't going to be pretty. So actually, you are seeing today a nicer Blair than he will ever be in the future.

Anyhoo, try to understand the current restraints that Blair feels obliged to work under, and take advantage. You have little time, and few options, but be happy, because in the near future you will have NO time, and NO options! Perhaps you should stop acting shocked at how far Blair is willing to go in the UK. If you were a protesting Iraqi, you problems would be infinitely greater, well at least up until the moment Blair murdered you, your family, your street, your district, and your town!

To be honest, these are cruel times, and if you aren't smart enough to work around the methods of Blair's goons, you don't deserve any success.

so what's your point, Twilight?

...that you are the wise enlightened one for spouting wisdom about how tony blair is a serial killer and THEY ARE COMING FOR US TOO AND WE'RE ALL DOOMED?

Thanks for that. Get off your arse and do something useful. At least shut up with the armchair punditry.

Twilight, you are paranoid. And what was Saddam, an angel? Your nonsense does not help anyone, the problems in Iraq are extremely complex, to say Blair is Fred West is pathetic. And Bush, is he Satan?

Couldn't agree more with the second comment. If you do insist on spouting know-it-all, (and sadly everyone else here knows it too) portentous, unhelpful punditry, please at least follow it up with some ideas for how to help the situation.

Where the fuck was everyone??? At 4.30pm about 200 arms dealer scum came out of custon house dlr-to be greeted by THREE protesters! WTF?! I expected 1000's of people to tell these murdering scum to fuck opf and die. Instead I see a buch of smirking fat death dealers walking down the road with no one challenging them. Moment lost. Trolls

15.09.2005 07:55

At troll - why because some people are telling the truth about the protest outside DESI yesterday and Tuesday. Turnout was crap, it was badly organised and the police made us look stupid, we achieved nothing. Face facts and stop calling other trolls because they have the guts to say what happended.

What the fuck was the point of those meetings we went to ?

Troll twats look stupid

15.09.2005 16:03

You don't think we can't tell which comments are posted by the same people? You don't think we can't spot the patterns? Again and again we see you prats post you disinfo and try to put people down and discourage action. But it is you that looks stupid.

The police did not win, and it is they who look stupid. Dispite massive resources and huge numbers, the police completely failed to prevent direct action causing massive disruption to the delegates attending the arms fair. Dispite a policing bill of around 4 million pounds and a whole week of repression against protesters, they still failed to spot and intercept those affinity groups who had planned actions to disrupt the transport infrastruture. The cops failed even though they had been told that wednesday was direct action day with transport as the target.

Meanwhile, those protests on the streets (certainly lower numbers than previous years and quite disapointing) were performing a very valueable job of distracting the police and diverting resources while other blocked roads with lock-ons or vehicles and climbed on trains etc. Those people on the street may have come home feeling dissilusioned, feeling that little happened. The same was true of 2003. However, when you get an overview of what took place during the week and during wednesday specifically, then you get a real perspective on the success of the day.

We certainly didn't win - the arms fare wasn't shut down, but the did beat the cops. Their job was to stop us and they failed.

Twilight…hmmmmm

I think that maybe u did not “think” out what u were saying when comparing Blair and our situation in the UK to that of Iraq’s.
Firstly, I believe there is no comparison and no, we do not have to be grateful (which is what your statement implies) that we are protesting in England and not Iraq, people protest here because WE CAN! That is our right, The right of a democratic society.
Sadly as we, all know democracy is but a word! we protest for and on behalf on those that do not have that freedom, That RIGHT,
Plus twilight I think we all fully understand the implications that the people of Iraq would face if they protested…hence why the “free world” does it for them.

You say we should stop acting shocked at how far blair is willing to go in the Uk, shocked?..No twilight id say we are more ABSOLUTLEY DISGUSTED!!!
