Having witnessed people being arrested for displaying banners in Parliament Square on 7th August, I find it somewhat ironic to see on TV people with large banners protesting freely in, of all places, Iraq. Has it come to the point where repression in UK is worse than some less reputable countries?

What has happened to the people who were arrested on the 1st and 7th August in Parliament Square? Were they charged with an offence and will they be punished?
