Newchurch National Demo will go ahead as planned

West Midlands Animal Action | 24.08.2005 10:29 | Animal Liberation | Birmingham

After 6 years of relentless campaigning, Newchurch Farm(breeders of guinea pigs for vivisection) have finally accepted defeat!! But the National Demonstration on Saturday 3rd September will go ahead as planned.

Yestedays announcement that Newchurch Guinea Pig Farm is to close down at the end of the year is truly a fantastic victory for animal rights. It has been a long time coming, but this just goes to show that we should never give in!!

Of course, the farm owners have stated they will not be allowing the remaining guinea pigs to be found loving homes, they will all end up suffering in a laboratory or have their necks broken at the farm as worthless victims!

NATIONAL MARCH & RALLY - Burton on Trent - Sat 3 Sept

This national event marks the 6th anniversary of the ALF liberation of 600 guinea pigs from Newchurch. It will still be taking place, as planned, in Burton on Trent from 12 noon on Saturday 3rd September. Please join us to call on Newchurch to release their remaining prisoners into loving homes. And join us to CELEBRATE the forthcoming closure of this hellhole!! More details on the SNGP website  http://www.liberation-now.org

Transport will be available from the West Midlands, please get in touch. For transport from elsewhere, contact SNGP at  info@liberation-now.org

Do not listen to the press! (of course) All sensible people everywhere are delighted by this. Well done and thank you. My mum is v concerned about the guinea pigs currently there and is offering a home, but it seems they will not be saved? Still, better that there are no more small furry animals tortured in the name of progress. Fascinating that when asked to justify this on radio 4, all scientists could say was that work on the animals had resulted in several Nobel prizes. No actual medical breakthroughs, you note. Just prizes.

Trains from Nottingham (and Derby etc) to Burton on Trent are direct, quick and easy, probably easier than driving. There may also be lifts available from Nottingham Animal Rights Group, and with Veggies Catering Campaign, who will be catering at the event. Call 0787 086 1837.
