Union Busting

Further attempts to break the unions

Following on from recent posts about the union dispute at Rolls Royce (  https://publish.indymedia.org.uk/en/2005/08/321211.html ) readers may be interested in the fight for union recognition at the Caterpiller Group where the T&G have been prevented from appointing a shop steward in the main manufacturing area since 2002. The management list "Health and Safety" as the reason, claiming there is no space for an office.

Caterpiller has a long history of preventing union organisation and once stopped two members of the old Boilermakers Union from handing out leaflets in public !

Union membership is a right for all workers and it is being slowly erroded every day in the UK.
