C was due to be deported this evening at 7.30pm from Heathrow airport.
Due to the intervention of a solicitor and constant pressure from campaigners, supporters, doctors and increased mainstream media attention, the deportation was halted about 5pm.
C has been returned to Colnbrook detention centre and is still believed to be in isolation.
The latest update is that another of the Ugandan hunger strikers has been transfered to Colnbrook and faces removal on Thursday.
