Blair admits Illegality of Iraq Invasion ?

Richard Akers | 06.08.2005 21:56

PM's press conference 05 August 2005 - has the PM has made an admission, at least an implicit admission, that UK troops invaded Iraq illegally ?

This quote is from yesterday's PM press conference press which appears to be an admission, at least an implicit admission, that UK troops invaded Iraq illegally.

"We do want to make it clear, it isn't acceptable, they can't be allowed to cross the border and come into Iraq and start killing people or try to kill our troops who are there with the UN mandate now, ......"

He could have said simply "try to kill our troops" or even " try to kill our troops who are there with the UN mandate" but he added the word now" implying there was a "then" when there was no UN Mandate.

Maybe he was on a roll yesterday and didn't realize what he was saying.

Much as I'd like to see this lying shit drop himself in it... hell, there is already enough info in the public domain to have him Alistair Liar-Campbell in court... the problem with this interview is it's a transcript of speech. You can read it at least two ways depending on the stress & intonation of "now": it could mean 'currently' or 'as opposed to be before'... if anyone has an audio clip, it'd be interested!

Do they still broadcast his press briefings?

Blair admits to nothing, get real and do not waste your time reading between lines what you dream at night
