Nottinghamshire Police, like other forces, have a number of these vehicles. They can be parked in the street, but more frequently get used at event. Not to intimidate people of course, just in case anyone does anything wrong.

More specifically in Nottingham, you could check out 'Operation Shield' which originally was to look into violent crime. However, me thinks, the remit has spread a little wider.
