Police search policy

L | 01.08.2005 08:38

The BBC news website reports on new police search policy after attacks.

The British transport police have said that after the London attacks people of certain ethnic groups are more likely to be searched on public transport. A police force spokesperson has said communities were not being singled out but police have to "target the people we think may be involved" in bomb attacks.

NEW search policy? That's a laugh. Standard policy being acknowledged for the first time, due to media scrutiny.

Every single case of suicide bombing in the west has been carried out by young males of Middle Eastern appearance.

I suppose some wankers will want the police to also search blue eyed, grey haired grandmothers just to be fair.

Middle East?
What - Pakistan? Somalia?
Better brush up on your geography, mate, before you start spouting off your racist crap on here.

logic bypass

01.08.2005 14:47

Err, simple logic!

For a start, the suicide bombers have all been Muslims, most of the Muslim population is Asian or Middle Eastern, with some blacks and some whites also thrown in.

Therefore it is basic common sense that they should be targetting mostly male people from the Asian and Middle Eastern races.

It would be a waste of resources to search as many white grannies and vicars as these groups!

Do people really have a logic bypass on here or what!

Anybody asked . . . .

Anybody asked people from the community that may be affected by this ? I am a Turk and would probably be included the groups likely to be searched. Well as a daily user of both the bus and tube that's fine by me.

point is

01.08.2005 17:18

The point is, what they're trying to do on here and in other so-called lefty groups is to de-legitimise policing, and they will USE race to do that and sow distrust and resentment to get what they want.

They want the police to be de-legitimised and isolated from the community so that they can get closer to having an anarchist society, without a police or government, where supposedly we'd all live happily ever after.

So to repeat, race is being used to achieve an aim of theirs politically. They are basically parasitising off ethnic minorities to try and get their political aims fulfilled.

In that case...

Why bother arresting the older white women at the Parliament square demo then? They obviously thought they must be some kind of threat!

search harrassment

02.08.2005 14:51

having been searched (read harrassed) many times during the few days round the bombing last month - because I looked like a likely peaceful protester against all kinds of war and injustice - I wonder when the polis are gonna start search/harrassing the mainly white middle aged men in suits who design, make, promote, sell and choose to order less powerful men to use in bulk the kind of weaponry which has killed however bloody many iraqis etc?

just wondering

Police Searching tactics - past and present

Interestingly, during the mainland campaign of the IRA and the so called "ring of stell" that the cops enforced around London at the height of that campaign that the majority of those stopped by the Met where of Asian and Black backgrounds. Now I've not lived in Irelnad for a while but as far as I remember the IRA were mainly compopsed of Irish (white) background. The point being that the Met don't need any encouragement in adopting racist attitudes. They have done for some time and this time they have a pretext for it. Thats all. Its not any different to how it was before.
