Residents are Organising and Fighting Back!

The demolition Derby goes on throughout the North West but residents are now organising themselves and fighting back

It is with much urgency that I put these links onto Indymedia. It is now quite apparent to housing activists that housing associations or Registered Social Landlords (RSL’s), as they are now known, are acting as a repressive force within British communities. The whole aim of RSL’s, who work in so called “partnership” with city councils and quasi government quangoes, as well as boarding up their terraced houses to increases the look of blight within areas, also to put structures into place within communities that enable outside vested interests such as property developers and builders to impose their agendas onto the community practically unhindered. Profit is their main aim and they will walk over the community and cause untold misery to achieve their aims.

Below are links to documents that have been presented to the Deputy Prime Ministers Office by concerned groups on Merseyside:

 http://www.parliament.the-stationery-office.co.uk/pa/cm200405/cmselect/cmodpm/295/295we11.htm

The two above documents by tenants and homeowners from the Liverpool Welsh Streets and the Merseyside Civic Society proves that when people get together and say no to demolition there is nothing the RSL’s and councils can do. The whole aim of the latter mentioned is to keep the community and they will use any means to achieve this.
