Should be interesting, Muslims need to expel the myths that surround Islam. The far right have capitalised on the small minority of extremist Muslims. The British are a docile race but easily aroused during times of perceived wars.

I welcome any Muslim scholar who can explain sections of the Koran. It is the only way to debate the issue of Muslim extremism, and conquer it. This will help the left develop an understanding of extremism in all its forms.

Hello,

I am a muslim of the same sect as Abu Khadeejah, the speaker at the conference, and am posting this reply to express my vehement hatred of terrorism and terrorists, including suicide bombers.

Time doesn't permit me to write a long reply/comment, but I just wanted to inform you of the website of the org. that Abu Khadeejah manages:

Islams war on terror

20.08.2005 16:54

Salam,
I was at the conference and to me it seemed that the brother didnt really know what he was talking about, surely, every muslim knows suicide in any circumstances is Haram, however, the brother tried to highlight instances and times in history where Muslims have committed acts of terror and suicide and have their actions have been defended.
The brother mentioned an interview with Osama Bin Laden which took place in 1996, in which Osama is supposed to have said, he holds the perpetrators of the bombings in East Africe, in Khobar and in Riyadh in high regard, however, the bombing in Khobar wasnt untill 1997 and the terrorist attack in Riydh didnt take place untill 2003, is Osama psychic as well as terror mastermind??
The brother also mentioned when MUSLIMS tried bombing the World Trade Center in 1993, Timothy Mcvie, not a Muslim name!
there were various other discrepencies in the talk however i just wanted to highlight two of the most obvious.

Panorama

Did anyone see the Panorama show Sunday evening about Muslim fundamentalists (scary).

Top moderate Muslims in Britain where saying that Immams preach one thing to the public - but behind closed doors they preached another to their followers.

Is this true, and isnt it time the BBC did an undercover documentary inside a mosque to find out what is really said?

specifics!

ok nasir, stop playing with specifics. "...it wasnt 1996 it was 1997...timothy mcveigh didnt bomb..." etc, and whatever else you said along those lines

the fact of the matter is bin laden did praise these atrocities, (refer back to some of his video releases). it is also apparent from your post that maybe YOU DONT KNOW that there was an attack on the world trade centre in 1993. it seems that you are confusing 1995, oklahoma city bomber, timothy -"not muslim named" (duh!)- mcveigh with the 1993 event. !?!?!?!?
