Hiroshima Day
Oxford Youth & Student CND | 27.07.2005 11:26 | Anti-militarism | Oxford
On 6th August, 12-2pm, Oxford peace groups will be gathering to remember the devestation caused when an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima 60 years ago.
The bombing of Hiroshima 60 years ago caused unprecedented destruction, killing around 100,000 people on impact. CND's website (www.cnduk.org) has more information about the impact of the bombing.
Oxford peace groups are joining together to highlight the destruction and, at a time when the next generation of Britain's nuclear weapons is to be discussed in parliament, to say that this must never happen again.
Come to Cornmarket between 12 - 2 to learn more about Hiroshima. There will be a short ceremony, followed by speakers at 2pm.
