Mudge | 27.07.2005 00:37 | Anti-militarism | Culture | Technology | London
WORKSHOP! SATURDAY 3Oth JULY:
THE FUTURE POTENTIAL OF PEACE NOT WAR
St George's Circle Community Centre, 49 Tufnell Park Rd, London N7. Free entry.
Workshop organized by CREATIVE FORUM: for info phone Mudge 07810 750 505
6pm: The History & Future Potential of Peace Not War.
A seminar detailing the last 3 years of the Peace Not War Music Project, and suggesting many possibilities for the expansion of the project. With thousands of visitors every day, the website http://www.peace.fm can educate and inspire masses to radical action: live radio, multilingual translations, online video and automatically-updating information databases are already in development. An international CD/DVD distribution system is in place, ready for a series of locally-organized compilations to be released (Japanese CD out in October). Protest concerts in London, Stirling etc give the movement positive energy, and this formula can go global.
7.30pm: Free Veggie Meal
8.30pm: Forming a Collective of Activists and Creatives for Peace Not War.
The recent bombings in London are an invitation for us to stand together for nonviolence, to get organized and spread peace. Peace Not War has been a centralized organization so far, but will be changing into a circular network at this meeting, open to any nonviolent person who attends. Bring your particular skills and perspective to the circle. Subcommittees will be brainstorming ways forward: website, live concerts & protests, administration & fundraising, CD/DVD production.
10.00pm: The End (Unfortunately there is not allowed to be any live entertainment for licensing reasons).
