political band wanted for g8 prisoner support night in Hull

raskulls | 23.07.2005 16:20 | G8 2005 | Globalisation | Social Struggles

we are a collective in hull putting on a benefit gig for people arrested around the g8 actions. looking for a band to play some music on our alternatives to g8 film night. we're focusing on media misrepresentation and corporate news sources taking over , other stuff too.

all money going to prisoner / legal support. alternative films, open mic and a bit of music. anyone in the area want to come and join in the gig, bring political poetry / songs / rants, etc. shortage of social awareness in this town. trying to spread the wake up call .
we can put you up for the night if needed, get in touch if you're interested. planning for august 14-17th ish. not booked yet. cheers.

Riotfolk?

Try Riot-Folk (www.riotfolk.org). They are an american political folk collective (they played at the Stirling eco village) and if they are still in England I'm sure they'd be up for it.

Why don't you try the Dastards - they've got a song about Shami Chakrabarti - the liberty leader. Think they are on Dastards.com
